Dear Neighbours,
As the Parliament session has come to a close, summer is in full swing and I hope you and your family are enjoying the season. Over the past few weeks, I have had the opportunity to meet with residents, celebrate local milestones, and announce new federal investments that will strengthen Brampton’s economy and keep our communities safe.
Here’s a look at what’s been happening in Brampton Centre and important federal updates you may find helpful.
As always, my office is here to support residents with federal matters and community concerns. Please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,

It was an honour to join CanSTEM Education Private School for its Convocation Ceremony and celebrate the hard work, perseverance, and accomplishments of this year’s graduates. Graduation marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and I have no doubt these students will continue to make a positive impact in our community and beyond.
To every graduate: congratulations on this incredible achievement, and best wishes for all that lies ahead.

Celebrating Bloom Child Development Centre
Congratulations to Bloom Child Development Centre on its official inauguration!
I was proud to celebrate the opening of this wonderful new space dedicated to supporting children and families through pediatric therapy, developmental services, and early intervention programs.
Access to quality supports during a child’s early years can make a lifelong difference. Bloom CDC will provide families in Brampton with valuable resources while helping children reach their full potential.
I wish the entire team continued success as they serve our community.

It was a pleasure to visit Tim Hortons locations in Brampton for Camp Day.
This annual fundraising event takes 100% of the proceeds from hot and iced coffee sales and donates them to the Tim Hortons Foundation Camps for underserved youth.
Thank you to the dedicated staff, volunteers, and everyone who supported this important initiative. Together, we are helping create opportunities for young people across Canada through the Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.

BUILDING CANADA STRONG: FEDERAL UPDATES

Strengthening Community Safety: Bill C-14 Becomes Law
I recently joined the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Sean Fraser, Ontario Attorney General Doug Downey, Mayor Patrick Brown, and law enforcement leaders at Brampton City Hall to mark the passage of Bill C-14, the Bail and Sentencing Reform Act.
Bill C-14 is now law and strengthens Canada’s criminal justice system by introducing stricter bail rules for repeat and violent offenders, strengthening sentencing measures for serious crimes, including extortion, auto theft, and organized crime, and providing law enforcement and prosecutors with stronger tools to help protect our communities.
Everyone deserves to feel safe in their neighbourhood. Our government remains committed to supporting law enforcement, holding serious offenders accountable, and keeping Canadians safe.

Investing $5.2 Million to Help Brampton Businesses Grow
I was proud to announce a $5.2 million federal investment through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) to help Brampton businesses innovate, grow, and compete in today’s economy.
The investment includes:
• $2.5 million for the Brampton Business Growth Accelerator, helping local businesses scale and expand into new markets.
• 2.7 million for the BNext AI Program, delivered in partnership with the City of Brampton and BHive Brampton, to support businesses adopting artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
These investments will help create good jobs, strengthen our local economy, and ensure Brampton businesses remain competitive for years to come.

Canadian Dental Care Plan
Applications are now open for the 2026–2027 Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)!
The CDCP helps make dental care more affordable for eligible Canadians without access to dental insurance.
You may qualify if you have filed your income tax return, have an adjusted family net income below $90,000, are a Canadian resident for tax purposes, or do not have access to dental insurance.
If you received coverage during the 2025–2026 benefit year and did not renew before June 1, 2026, you can still reapply, although there may be a gap in your coverage.
If you think you or your family may be eligible, I encourage you to submit your application.

Passport Renewal is Now Available Online!
Canadians can now renew eligible passports online, making the process more convenient for many applicants.
To renew your passport online, you must meet all of the following requirements:
• You were 16 or older when you applied for your current passport.
• Your current passport is a regular blue passport that was issued within the last 15 years and was valid for 5 or 10 years.
• Your passport shows your place of birth and will expire within the next six months, or has already expired.
• You are renewing your own passport and are keeping the same name, date of birth, place of birth, and gender identifier.
• Your home and mailing address are in Canada, and you will be in Canada to receive your new passport.
• Your current passport is not damaged, seized, or surrendered, and does not contain any official observations.
• You are not replacing a passport that was previously reported lost or stolen.
• You do not need your passport for travel within the next 20 business days, plus mailing time.
A digital passport photo is also required. The photo must be taken in person by a commercial photographer, be less than six months old, and be provided as a digital file rather than a scanned copy of a printed photo.
Please note that once you submit your online renewal application, your current passport will be cancelled immediately and can no longer be used for travel. Processing takes up to 20 business days, plus mailing time. If you need your passport sooner, you should apply in person.
