Launching Canada’s Auto-Strategy

On February 5, I attended the launch of Canada’s new auto strategy, where Prime Minister Mark Carney outlined a plan to make Canada a global leader in electric and low-emission vehicles (EVs).

This plan focuses on supporting domestic manufacturing, helping Canadians afford EVs, and strengthening emissions standards. As part of this strategy, $2.3 billion will be invested in a five-year EV affordability program, offering up to $5,000 for battery-electric vehicles and up to $2,500 for plug-in hybrids.

These investments will support Canadian jobs, strengthen our economy, and help reduce reliance on foreign supply chains while building a cleaner future.
